Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. You can use a whole chicken weighing approximately 3⅓ lb and cut it into serving-sized pieces, or choose individual cuts such as drumsticks, thighs or chicken breast.
Step 2
Rinse the chicken and pat it dry. Cut a whole chicken into serving-sized pieces and remove the skin, if desired.
Step 3
Sprinkle the chicken with half of the seasonings and rub them evenly into the meat.
Step 4
Add half of the mayonnaise and ketchup, mix well and leave the chicken to marinate for 30 minutes.
Step 5
Rinse the potatoes thoroughly, peel them and cut them into wedges.
Step 6
Peel the carrot and cut it into sticks or slices.
Step 7
Peel the onion and cut it into half-rings.
Step 8
Combine the potatoes, carrot and onion in a bowl. Add the remaining seasonings, mayonnaise and ketchup, mix well and leave for 10–15 minutes.
Step 9
Transfer the vegetables to a roasting bag and arrange the chicken pieces on top. Secure the bag at both ends and make several small holes in the top to allow steam to escape.
Step 10
Bake in an oven preheated to 350°F for approximately 1 hour, or until the chicken and potatoes are cooked through. The exact cooking time will depend on the size of the chicken pieces, the type of potatoes and your oven.
Step 11
Transfer the cooked chicken and potatoes to a serving dish, sprinkle with fresh herbs and serve hot.
