Carrot Patch Dessert
Your own carrot patch on the table! Restaurants have long been serving desserts with “edible soil.” In essence, it is chocolate cookie crumbs. This kind of presentation always looks very original, whether it is a flower in a pot or a potato-shaped cake in a field. So I decided to make a carrot patch too.

Ingredients

Chicken eggs
Table
Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients for making an unusual brownie with strawberries called “Carrot Patch.”
Step 2
Break the dark chocolate into small pieces, and cut the butter into small cubes as well. Transfer the prepared ingredients to a small saucepan and melt over low heat.
Step 3
Remove the saucepan from the heat, add the sugar, and mix. Put the saucepan back over the heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar fully dissolves. Let the mixture cool slightly.
Step 4
Once the mixture has cooled slightly, add the chicken eggs and the egg yolk, then mix.
Step 5
Next, add the wheat flour and cocoa sifted through a sieve, and mix the chocolate batter with a spatula until smooth.
Step 6
Line the pan with baking paper, add the batter, and bake the brownie in a preheated oven for 25–30 minutes.
Step 7
Spread jam over the finished brownie. It is best to use blackcurrant or blueberry jam, because these jams are dark in color and help create a stronger “soil” effect. Brightly colored jams will spoil this effect. Carefully trim the edges of the brownie with a knife so the dessert looks neater.
Step 8
Separate the dark cookies, such as Oreo-style cookies, remove the cream filling with a knife, and crush the cookies. Sprinkle the crushed cookies over the brownie.
Step 9
Melt the white chocolate over a steam bath. Add the food coloring, mix, and pour the chocolate into a narrow glass. Skewer the washed and dried strawberries onto wooden skewers and dip them into the glass with the melted chocolate. Let the excess chocolate drip off and place the berries on parchment paper. Let the chocolate set at room temperature.
Step 10
Carefully place the “carrots” into the “soil.” Serve the cake with tea, cutting it into small portions that look like little patches of soil with carrots.
