Preparation
Step 1
Prepare the ingredients. Choose fresh, juicy, brightly colored carrots. Use one large carrot or two medium ones. Choose a good-quality processed cheese.
Step 2
Wash and peel the carrot, then grate it using a Korean-style carrot grater, coarse grater or medium grater.
Step 3
Place the processed cheese in the freezer for about 30 minutes so it is easier to grate, then grate it coarsely or on a medium grater.
Step 4
Peel the garlic and finely grate or press it. Adjust the amount of garlic to taste.
Step 5
Place the grated carrot, processed cheese and garlic in a bowl. Add a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise and season with salt to taste. You can replace the mayonnaise with sour cream or thick plain yogurt if desired.
Step 6
Mix the salad thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
Step 7
Serve the salad in a salad bowl or individual dishes, or shape it with a serving ring. If using a ring, place it on a flat plate, fill with the salad and smooth the top. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
Step 8
Remove the serving ring carefully and garnish with parsley, dill or salad leaves if desired. Serve on its own or alongside pasta, mashed potatoes or meat dishes.
