Bulgur with Chicken in the Oven
Simple, tasty, and similar to a baked pilaf! Bulgur with chicken in the oven is convenient because it’s a full meal in one dish. The grain pairs perfectly with chicken, but you can also add vegetables or mushrooms for variety.

Preparation
Step 1
You can use any parts of the chicken or just chicken fillet for this recipe.
Step 2
Rinse the chicken under running water and pat it dry with a paper towel. Cut into pieces. Heat a pan with a little vegetable oil and fry the chicken over high heat for 2-3 minutes, until slightly golden. Add a pinch of salt. Don’t cook it fully yet.
Step 3
For baking, use any oven-safe dish - ceramic or glass works well. Transfer the seared chicken pieces into the baking dish.
Step 4
Peel the onion and carrot, rinse, and chop. Finely dice the onion and grate the carrot. Sauté both for 3-4 minutes until lightly softened.
Step 5
Evenly sprinkle the required amount of bulgur over the chicken pieces.
Step 6
Top with the sautéed vegetables, pour in water to cover (about 2 cups / 480 ml for 1 cup bulgur). Add salt and spices to taste, such as ground black pepper. Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 30-35 minutes.
Step 7
During baking, the bulgur will absorb all the liquid, becoming soft and fluffy, while the chicken finishes cooking. Remove from the oven, stir gently, and serve hot. Enjoy!
