Boiled Fish Salad
Simple, made from everyday ingredients, yet very tasty and filling! A fish salad with boiled white fish, eggs, and vegetables is healthier than a canned-fish salad. Adding apple and pickled onion makes it more tangy and interesting.

Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a boiled fish salad? Prepare the ingredients. Use a white-fish fillet - Alaska pollock, cod, or hake. Or use a whole fish; it doesn’t really matter for this recipe. Boil the eggs in advance and let them cool. Choose a sweet apple. Drain the liquid from the peas.
Step 2
First, boil the fish. Thaw it as gently as possible by moving it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator. Cut into pieces. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and add salt. Lower the fish pieces into the water. Simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, depending on the size.
Step 3
Remove the fish from the water and let it cool.
Step 4
Peel the onion and slice it into thin half-rings. To keep the onion from stinging your eyes while slicing, rinse the onion and the knife with cold water.
Step 5
Put the sliced onion into a small bowl and pour boiling water over it. Then add sugar and vinegar. Leave the onion to marinate for 15 minutes, then drain it in a sieve.
Step 6
Dice the cucumbers very small, about the size of a pea - this will make the salad look neater.
Step 7
Dice the apple as well.
Step 8
Peel the eggs and dice them the same size as the other ingredients.
Step 9
Combine all the chopped ingredients in a salad bowl and add the pickled onion. Flake the fish into small pieces, removing any bones. Add the green peas. Season with salt and pepper to taste, keeping in mind the salad will be dressed with mayonnaise, which also contains salt.
Step 10
Dress the salad with mayonnaise and serve. Enjoy your meal!
