Table
Table of volume measurements:
- teaspoon - 5 ml
- dessert spoon - 10 ml
- tablespoon - 20 ml
- glass - 200 ml
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Step 2
To prepare the filling, place the sliced apples, butter and sugar into a saucepan and cook over a medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the apples are just starting to soften and collapse. Taste and add extra sugar if needed. Gently stir in the blackberries, then transfer the mixture to an ovenproof dish and set aside.
Step 3
For the crumble topping, mix the flour, oats and sugar together in a bowl. Add the butter and rub it in lightly with your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
Step 4
Using a pestle and mortar or a small food processor, lightly crush the seeds so they break down slightly but are not reduced to a powder. Stir the crushed seeds into the crumble mixture.
Step 5
Scatter the crumble evenly over the fruit filling. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Leave to stand for about 10 minutes before serving.
