Easy
More than 1 hour.
Preparation
Step 1
Pour the warm, but not hot, milk and warm water into a bowl. Add the sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix, then pour in the neutral vegetable oil and add the egg white. Set the yolk aside; it will be used later to brush the buns.
Step 2
Add the flour in portions and knead the dough. You may need a little more or less flour. The dough should be very soft and tender, and it should stick slightly to your hands. Knead it for about 10 minutes. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and leave in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours. I use the oven with the light turned on as a warm place.
Step 3
Divide the risen dough into 8 equal parts. Divide each piece into 2 more parts, roll them into ropes, and twist them together. Join the ends and place the shaped bun on a baking sheet lined with baking paper or on a silicone mat.
Step 4
Cover the shaped buns with plastic wrap and leave them for another 15–20 minutes.
Step 5
Brush the buns with the yolk. I diluted the yolk slightly with water so it would not burn during baking. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Step 6
Bake the buns at 190°C / 374°F for 25 minutes. The buns should brown nicely. Enjoy!
