Preparation
Step 1
How do you make a 1-minute microwave mug cake? Prepare the ingredients from the list. You can replace baking powder with baking soda, and vanillin with vanilla sugar.
Step 2
Melt the butter in the microwave or over a water bath and let it cool.
Step 3
Crack the eggs into a bowl and add the sugar.
Step 4
Beat the eggs with a mixer or whisk until foamy.
Step 5
Add the cocoa powder and vanillin.
Step 6
Beat until smooth, then pour in the melted butter and mix again with a whisk or mixer.
Step 7
Sift the flour with the baking powder into the bowl. Sifting aerates the flour, making the cake lighter and fluffier. Keep in mind you may need a bit more or less flour than stated - focus on the batter consistency rather than the exact amount.
Step 8
Mix the batter until smooth. The batter should be about as thick as sour cream.
Step 9
Grease a mug with butter or vegetable oil and spoon in the batter, filling the mug exactly halfway. Choose a mug of about 70-100 ml (about 2.5-3.5 fl oz).
Step 10
Microwave on high for 1 minute, watching so the cake doesn’t overflow. Decorate the finished cake with powdered sugar, sprinkles, etc. Enjoy your meal!
